Prof. Hao Bai got his B.Sc. at Zhejiang University in 2006, and Ph.D. in physical chemistry at Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012 (advisor: Prof. Lei Jiang). Before joining College of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Zhejiang University, he was a postdoc researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory with Dr. Antoni P. Tomsia and Prof. Robert O. Ritchie successively. Prof. Bai was awarded ‘1000 Youth Talents’ by the Chinese Central Government in 2015, and Qiu Shi Outstanding Young Scholar Award (2015). His research interests are on biological and bioinspired materials. 

Qunfeng Cheng is currently a full Professor at Beihang University. He received his PhD degree from Zhejiang University. From 2008 to 2009, he worked in Tsinghua University and Florida State University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In 2010, he joined the School of Chemistry and Environment, Beihang University. In 2015, he was awarded the Prize of the Excellent Young Scientist Foundation of NSFC. In 2016, he was awarded the Chinese Chemical Society Young Chemist Award and Changjiang Young Scholar of Ministry of Education. His research interest focuses on bioinspired functional nanocomposites. He has published 46 peer-review papers, including Acc. Chem. Res. (1 paper), Chem. Soc. Rev. (2 papers), Angew. Chem., Int. Ed. (4 papers), Adv. Mater. (3 papers), ACS Nano (6 papers). Dr. Xu Hou is a professor at Xiamen University (http://xuhougroup.xmu.edu.cn/).  His scientific interests are focused on the design and fabrication of biomimetic micro/nano pore/channel systems. Until now, he has published 32 SCI papers (Nature, Nature Reviews Materials, Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., ACS Nano, Chem. Commun., Adv. Funct. Mater., etc., and highlighted by Nature, Nature China, etc.) and his citations are more than 2000, and he is a reviewer for more than 20 international academic journals related to a variety of fields including Chemistry, Materials Science, and Engineering, such as Chem. Soc. Rev., Nat. Commun, Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. etc.  

Doctor Jian Li, obtained M.S. degrees at Beihang University (BUAA) in 2007 and received his PhD from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2012. And he is studying for a postdoctoral at BUAA. Now, he is currently an associate professor at Northwest Normal University (NWNU). His current scientific interests are devoted to fabricating superhydrophobic surfaces with micro- and nanostructures and exploring the corresponding practical applications. Till now, he has published more than 40 papers about the interfaces of Materials.

Dr. Peng Yang obtained his Ph.D. degree from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China, in 2006 under the supervision of Prof. Wantai Yang. After that, he finished his postdoctoral study in Max-Planck-Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Duke University, and University of Tokyo. In 2012, he joined School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Shaanxi Normal University as a Professor of Physical Chemistry and Polymer. His research interests include functional surfaces and interfaces, vesicles, biosensors, and interfacial materials.

 

Prof. Jun CAI. He received his Ph. D of Engineering from School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation (SMEA), Beihang University in Year 2004, then he worked as a senior research engineer at GE global Research Center for 3 years, after which he joined SMEA, Beihang University as an Asso. Prof in 2008, and was promoted to be Professor in Year 2014. Jun’s research interests involve using bio-prototype as templates to fabricate complex micro/nano/multi-scale particles/ structures/ composites. He has published over 70 papers in peer reviewed journals and proceedings, including over 40 papers were indexed by SCIE. 

 

Dr. Liu is also the deputy director of the National-Local-Joint Engineering Laboratory of Bio-inspired Engineering (NLJELBE).Prof. Liu received his Ph.D. from Harvard University and currently is a Tang Ao Qing Laureate Professor at Jilin University. The research inProf. Liu’s group is mainly focused on the design and synthesis of novel functional materials targeting a broad range of environmental, energy and biomedical applications, such as, electrochemical catalysis, light harvesting, photo-catalysis, pseudo-capacitors, biomaterials, etc. The findings have been published on Nature, PNAS, Chemical Science, Small, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, etc. 

Dr. Longjian Xue received his Ph.D. in Polymer Physics in 2010 at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC), Chinese Academy of Sciences. After a short stay in RWTH Aachen University (Germany) he worked as a Humboldt fellow at Osnabueck University and Kiel University (Germany) from 2010 to 2012. After that, he moved to the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz (Germany) as a Max-Planck scholar and research scientist.  His research interest is bioinspired functional materials . 

Feng Jie is currently a professor at the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT). He received his bachelor degree (1996, Qingdao Institute of Chemical Technology), Master degree (1999, Zhejiang University), and Ph.D. (2004, Zhejiang University). He had worked as an Engineer in Hangzhou Wahaha group Ltd. Co. during 1999.06-2001.03 and postdoctoral research fellow in Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore) during 2005.02-2007.02. In March of 2007, he joined ZJUT and was engaged as Associate Professor in 2007 and Professor in 2012. His scientific interest is focused on bio-inspired surface and interfacial materials.

Jun Tang, received his Ph.D degree in Department of Physics from National Technical University of Athens in 2010. Currently he is with North University of China as a professor of School of Instrument and Electronics. His research interests include MOEMS sensors, Micro-bionic technology.

Dr. Poramate Manoonpong is an Associate Professor of embodied AI & robotics at the Maersk Mc Kinney Moller Institute at the University of Southern Denmark. His central research agenda is “to understand how brain-like mechanisms including biomechanics (embodiment) can be realized in artificial agents (like biologically-inspired robots) so they can become more like living creatures in their level of performance". As author or coauthor, he has published over 100 publications in major scientific journals such as Nature Physics, IEEE Trans. Cybern., PLoS Comput. Biol, Scientific Reports. He has been PI and co-PI of 12 funded projects. He serves on Vice-Chairman of the Youth Commission of ISBE, an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Neuroscience (Neurorobotics), the editorial board of International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems (ARS), (Topic: Bioinspired Robotics), and as a program committee member for international conferences and workshops.

Dr. Zuankai Wang is currently an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. He was awarded the Changjiang Chair Professor by Ministry of Education of China in 2016. He earned his Ph. D. degree in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2008. Dr. Wang has received many awards including the President’s Award at the City University of Hong Kong (2017, 2016), Outstanding Youth Award conferred by the International Society of Bionic Engineering (2016), OSA Young Scientist Award (2016). The PHD students he supervised have won a number of prestigious awards including MRS Graduate Student Gold Award (2016 Fall Meeting, only two winners from China), Hiwin Doctoral Dissertation Award (2016), Hong Kong Young Scientist Award (2015), and MRS Graduate Student Silver Award (2015 Spring Meeting, only two winners from China). 

Huan Liu is currently an associate professor in School of Chemistry in Beihang University. She received her PhD degree (2005) under the supervision of Prof. Lei Jiang from the Institute of Chemistry, CAS (ICCAS). she joined the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology from 2005 to 2007, and she then moved to the University of Tokyo in 2007 as a project researcher of Prof. Kazuhito Hashimoto’s group (2007 - 2011). She has published over 50 research papers, and she was a recipient of the NSFC grant for Excellent Young Scholars (2016), New Century Excellent Talents in University (2013), the Henry Fok Youth Foundation (2012). Her research interests include superwettability on bio-inspired fibers and its applications on controllable liquid transfer.

Zhenyu Zhang, male, was born in June, 1976. His research interests focus on ultraprecision machining technologies. He obtained PhD degree of solid mechanics in August, 2005 at Tianjin University. Then, Dr. Zhang joined the State Key Laboratory of Tribology at Tsinghua University as a postdoctor from October 2005 to April 2007. He was an associate professor in April 2007 at Dalian University of Technology. From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Zhang had worked at the University of Queensland, Australia as a research fellow for three years. He was awarded the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of NSFC (51422502) in 2014, Changjiang Scholars Program of Ministry of Education of China in 2016, and Distinguished Young Scholars for Science and Technology of Dalian City (2016RJ05) in 2016. Since January 2015, Dr. Zhang has been promoted as a professor in School of Mechanical Engineering at Dalian University of Technology.

Daoai Wang received his Ph. D. in Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS, under the supervision of Prof Weimin Liu. From 2009 to 2013, he worked as a postdoc in Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics and the University of Tokyo.  His recent research interests include triboelectrification, nanoenergy and marine tribology. He has published more than 60 papers, including Adv.Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Nano Lett., which have been cited for more than 2000 times by SCI citations. He won the Wen Shizhu Maple Prize in 2015, and Gansu Province Natural Science Prize (No. 3) in 2014 and the Second Prize of National Natural Science Award(No. 3) with the project of Controllable Wetting on Surfaces of Engineering Materials in 2016.

I received my Ph.D in Materials Science from Jilin University of China in 2008 after graduating there with B.S degree in 2003. Then I became a faculty in Southeast University of China and was promoted to associate professor in April 2012. I went to University of Pennsylvania in January 2013 as a one-year visiting scholar. My research interests mainly focus on bioinspired metal surfaces with superwettability and high-performance surface engineering.

Yang Jun, male, Ph. D., researcher, Ph. D.The basic theory, material design, preparation and application of high temperature tribology. Study on the friction and wear behavior and wear characteristics of oxidation and coupling mechanism of materials under high temperature environment are disclosed, describes the chemical effect of high temperature friction and high temperature lubrication mechanism, the law of synergy of several solid lubricants, the high temperature lubricating wear-resistant material composition design principle and preparation methods of process control, development the preparation of bulk nanocrystalline materials melting combustion synthesis technology. The high temperature lubrication and wear resistant materials have been applied in the field of national defense, high-tech equipment and rail transportation. 

Zhou Shuxue, Ph. D., Professor, Ph. D. supervisor, Department of materials science, Fudan University, born in August 1973, Zhejiang, Tongxiang. XiaoYu Yang earned his B.S. degree from Jilin University in 2000 and his joint Ph. D. degree from Jilin University, China and FUNDP, Belgium(co-education) in 2007.After a postdoctoral fellowship at the FUNDP, he worked as a “Chargé de Recherches” at the F.N.R.S. (National Foundation of Scientific Research, Belgium). He is currently working as research professor at State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Material Synthesis and Processing. He is a recipient of Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2011, Program for “Chutian Scholar Professor” at Wuhan University of Technology in 2010, “Qiu-Shi Outsdanding Postgraduate” of Hong Kong in 2005, “Outstanding Young Scholars” of Hubei in 2016 and “Outstanding Contribution Award (Innovative Research Team, major participant)” of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas. His research is aimed at self-assembly materials, porous materials, catalysis, and cell-surface-engineering. He has authored and co-authored over 50 scientific publications, including over 50 peer-reviewed journal papers, 1 book, 6 book chapters and 10 patents etc. The average impact factor of SCI paper is over 6.0. H-index is 26 and i10-index is 38. Some important results have been published on leading journals such as Advanced Materials, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Energy. Environ. Sci. Chem. Sci. and Chem. Soc. Fenghua Su, 35 years old, Guangzhou City researcher, "Pearl River nova" in Colleges and universities of Guangdong province "Qianbaishi project" of the training objects. Mainly engaged in surface engineering and functional carbon materials research, presided over the national, provincial and ministerial level projects more than 10. Jiliang Mo, associate professor, School of mechanical engineering, Southwest Jiao Tong University. Mainly engaged in the research of tribology and surface engineering, friction vibration noise, on the surface of how technology affects the noise characteristics of the tribological behavior of interface and vibration, is of great significance to solve the high-speed trains, planes, ships, machine tools and other major equipment safety service. Personal Information. Shichao Niu is currently an lecturer at Key Laboratory of Bionic Engineering (Ministry of Education), Jilin University. He received his PhD degree (2014) in Bionic Science and Engineering from Jilin University under the supervision of Prof. Zhiwu Han. His current research focuses on the diversified  optical functional surfaces in nature, bio-inspired functional optical materials for energy and optical applications and the fabrication of biomimetic light trapping surfaces.

He worked at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) from 2007 to 2009 as a Research Associate in Prof. T.-Y. Zhang’s group. Then he joined School of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University as an Associate Professor. His research interests include corrosion and protection of metals, energy storage and conversion materials, interfacial materials with special wettability, and novel application of deep eutectic solvents in synthesis of nanostructured materials. YanLiu, Doctor of engineering, Professor / doctoral tutor, deputy director of Key Laboratory of Bionics Engineering of Ministry of education Jilin University. In 2009, he was nominated for "national excellent doctoral dissertation" (academician Shi Cong and Ren Luquan). In 2009 won the "Changchun city" eighth group of "outstanding young college graduates", 2010 was "Chinese agriculture machinery association second session of the youth science and Technology Award" in 2016 by the Changbai Mountain scholar Professor (Jilin Province in Colleges and universities to establish the highest academic title).
