  The Introduction of Laboratory of Carbon Nanomaterials  

  The carbon nanomaterials laboratory was founded in 2013. This laboratory was formed by integration of two laboratories: nonequilibrium processes and structures and acoustic methods. After integration the team of laboratory of nonequilibrium processes and structures saved its basic research direction: a development of the methods of film preparing, study of structure, physical - chemistry properties of films. The main attention is given to the technological and physical chemistry factors, which determine structure, strength and tribological properties of hard diamond-like carbon films (DLC’s), composite films with DLC’s matrix and multilayer film system. During last 10 years there were published more than 50 papers about development of deposition methods of super hard films, including composite and multilayer. Basic deposition methods are: impulse sputtering of graphite target, arc sputtering of metal target and hydrocarbon destruction in high-frequency impulse discharge. Main attention was paid to different aspects of the formation of films characteristics. The mechanism of composite films structure formation from a plasma flow of carbon ions and titanium was established. It was found that the properties of composite films depend nonlinearly on the amount of carbon matrix. Obtained results were presented at the international conferences. On the base of these results there were fulfilled the work in frame of the international agreements with the Japan and Korea companies. At present time scientific studies are directed toward the searches for the ways of improvement the characteristics of composite and multilayer films by using another transition metal and dopant. In 2015 the processing equipment of carbon nanomaterials laboratory was supplemented with EasyTubeTM 3000 ("First Nano" Co. USA) installation for synthesis of the carbon nanomaterials, including nanotubes and graphene, by CVD method. Deposition of new carbon structures will start at the end of 2016.
